Navigating the QRUR (your basis for MIPS)

No outcome no income. Our evolving environment of linking quality and finance is moving quickly. The distribution in April of our mid-year QRUR (Quality resource utilization reports) and the upcoming 2015 data QRUR is a sign that that land between - is becoming clearer in our practice of cardiovascular care. As the data year - 2017 - for MIPS (the quality element in MACRA) draws closer, it is imperative that physician and our CVT members realize these are the tools that are available to guide them in this process.

The Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), created by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) will affect clinician payments starting in 2019, but reporting requirements will begin as early as 2017. Learn about the MIPS program and current proposals from CMS, as well as what you should know about the current Medicare programs -- PQRS, Value Modifier, and Meaningful Use -- in order to prepare your practice for the MIPS.
